Charity initiatives
Supporting charitable causes is part of WGC Lawyers’ DNA. Our dedicated fundraising committee organises initiatives to direct resources where they’re needed most. Highlights include:
- Adopt a Family for Christmas 2018 – partnered with Mission Australia to help a local family with food, school supplies, and gifts
- Annie’s Army fundraising – contributed to the cardiac unit at the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation
- Cairns COUCH charity – annual support through events like the IRONMAN triathlon. The WGC trivia night and fundraising efforts raised $3,000 in 2024
- Domestic Violence Support – collaborated with local services in 2019 to repair and maintain homes affected by domestic violence.
- Relay for Life 2018 – raised $10,411 for Cancer Council Queensland
- School Savy FNQ Appeal by Centacare – long time supporter of this annual initiative to support local school students
- Young Animal Protection Society (YAPS) – provided essential supplies during urgent appeal
