MiRu, originally from the Republic of Korea, brings a diverse international background, having completed her secondary education in the United States and established her residence in Cairns and Far North Queensland in 2014.
Joining the Dispute Resolution and Litigation team at WGC Lawyers in early 2025, she works closely with Managing Director Rhiannon Saunders and Director John Hayward.
MiRu’s practice focuses on building and construction disputes, where she advises a broad spectrum of industry stakeholders on matters including contract interpretation and drafting, disputes arising under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (Qld) and the Subcontractors’ Charges Act 1974 (Qld), and interactions with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission concerning defective or incomplete work and Home Warranty Insurance claims.
Demonstrating a keen understanding of the challenges inherent in construction projects and the commercial realities of the Cairns and North Queensland market, MiRu is committed to delivering timely, tailored, and strategically sound counsel aimed at achieving efficient and effective dispute resolution.
Her fluency in Korean enables her to provide comprehensive legal services to South Korean clients in their native language.
Prior to joining WGC Lawyers, MiRu gained experience in personal injury law, representing plaintiffs in various claims.
In her leisure time, she enjoys watching UFC and football (EPL), good food, and spending time with friends.
