Monica Smith commenced with WGC Lawyers in early 2018 in a floating Paralegal role, assisting the Family Law Litigation and Commercial teams as well as providing support to the Accounts Department one day a week.
At the beginning of 2019, Monica accepted a promotion to Administration Manager to focus further on learning the business operations of the firm and working closely with General Manager Paula Cotterill to be the driving force of process improvement projects within the firm including the WGC Lawyers Client Portal and automating the accounts processes. Monica is passionate about ensuring the team have a good understanding of the firm’s database and implementing training sessions to promote knowledge and process efficiencies within the firm.
After returning from maternity leave, Monica has recently taken up a Paralegal position in the Dispute Resolution team and is excited to be working closely with Directors John Hayward and Rhiannon Saunders.
Prior to joining WGC Lawyers, Monica has lived in Victoria and South Australia and worked for local councils as well as several legal firms as a Paralegal including Shine Lawyers, a personal injury firm and EMA Legal, a boutique employment law firm exclusively dealing with employers.
