Michael Huelin

Michael Huelin is a Director of WGC Lawyers.  He and co-Director Graham Dutton lead the commercial and property team of seven lawyers and paralegals at WGC.

 For more than 30 years Michael has practised in the areas of commercial and property law.  Over that time Michael has built a large client base that includes the ‘who’s who’ of property developers in the region, both international and domestic.

 Michael’s expertise in property development has seen him involved in most of the large development projects in the area, be it commercial, residential, industrial or tourism.

 Most recently he has acted in the sale of three of the largest tourism operations in the Far North and is acts for the developer of the three newest hotels in Cairns, and of a proposed integrated resort.

 He also acts for a large number of local and regional businesses and provides advice on structuring, acquisitions and sales.

 No matter how large or small the deal, Michael’s approach is to understand the needs of his clients and to deliver service and advice that is expert, timely, and practical.  His approach is always to find solutions, not problems.

 Beyond the law, Michael has been a board member of a number of not-for-profit organisations and was a Director (and Deputy Chair) of Ports North, retiring from that position in September 2020 after serving for 11 years.  He also acts as a pro-bono advisor for a local charity.
